My Thoughts on the BSIT Course and Its Importance in Today’s Digital World

When I decided to take the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program, I honestly felt very scared and unsure. Back in senior high school, I was a HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) student, so moving to IT felt like a big challenge for me. I didn’t know much about computers, except for using social media. Most of my classmates from the ICT strand already knew the basics of coding and other computer skills, which made me feel nervous at first.

But even though I was afraid, I chose BSIT because I wanted to try something new and challenging. I know that technology is a big part of our lives today, and I want to be part of that world. I want to learn how computers, software, and the internet really work—not just use them.

During my first few weeks as an IT student, I felt lost and overwhelmed. The lessons were difficult, especially Programming, and sometimes I felt like giving up. I often joked, “The code is killing me!” 😅 But deep inside, I knew I had to keep going. Every small success—like making a program work—made me feel proud and gave me the confidence to continue.

As time passed, I realized how important and interesting the BSIT course is. It teaches us how to:

  • Design, develop, and manage computer-based systems

  • Solve problems using creativity and logic

  • Prepare for future jobs such as web developer, programmer, data analyst, or IT support specialist

The course also gives us hands-on experiences, like projects and internships, that help us apply what we learn in real life. That’s what I like most about BSIT—it’s not just about memorizing lessons but actually doing and creating things with technology.

BSIT also trains us to keep learning because technology changes so fast. Today, there are new things like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). As future IT professionals, we must keep up with these trends to help make life easier and safer for everyone.

When I think about my future as an IT student, I imagine myself working in a company or maybe creating my own software someday. I want to use what I learn to help others, build useful programs, and solve real problems. Even if it’s hard now, I know that this course will open many doors for me in the future.

In conclusion, taking BSIT may not be easy, but it’s worth it. This course is not just about computers—it’s about learning, growing, and shaping the future. I started with fear and doubt, but now I’m learning to believe in myself more.

I chose IT because I want to be part of the digital world and create something that can help people. Someday, I hope to become a successful IT professional who uses technology to make a difference.
